Earlier today, I reported on a rumor from NeoGaf that seemed to indicate that several Kotaku staff members had been fired due to a disagreement with the site’s current owners over advertisements. It appears that the information is incorrect and that I literally “jumped the gun” on reporting the story before adequately researching the allegations.
The false information I wrote about lands squarely in my lap as the editor of Gamespace. My mistakes are my own, not those of the hard-working writers on this site or even the site itself. I offer my deep and sincere apologies to our readers and followers and I genuinely thank those who pointed out the false information.
Rest assured that going forward, rumors will be more thoroughly researched before publishing any story here at Gamespace. Hits are no substitute for accuracy.
