Baldur’s Gate 3 System Specs Ramp Up Ahead of August Release

Baldur's Gate 3 - Hotfix 31 Now Live

If you’re like us at Gamespace, you are eagerly awaiting Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3. The highly-anticipated cRPG is headed out the gate on August 31, 2023. Interested players can get started today by purchasing an early access copy of the game. But it might be worth checking out the reworked system specs as published in last week’s Community Update. For the most part, the minimum and recommended system specs are the same. However, there has been a hefty increase in the available space required for BG3. Let’s take a look.

MINIMUM

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel I5 4690 / AMD FX 8350
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 970 / RX 480 (4GB+ of VRAM)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 150 GB available space

Last August, Larian asked for an Intel i5-4690 or AMD FX 4350 processor as well as 70 GB available space.

RECOMMENDED

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel i7 8700K / AMD r5 3600
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia 2060 Super / RX 5700 XT (8GB+ of VRAM)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 150 GB available space

Last August, Larian asked for an Intel i7 4770k or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X processor and 70 GB of available space.

As you can see, this is a hefty upgrade from specs published just months ago. If you’re looking to play BG3, it’s worth checking out your PC to see if it’s up to the task. Luckily, there’s plenty of time before the August release date to get just the right rig in place.
