Cantata, the upcoming character-driven sci-fi strategy from Modern Wolf, is set to land on new Frontiers and early access on 12 May.
Announced during the recent MIX 10th Anniversary Showcase, the news that character-focused sci-fi strategy Cantata is coming to Steam Early Access should give potential players in this new frontier an opportunity to influence the development of this promising indie.
If you managed to sample the mix of narrative and tactical combat at play in past demos, then the early access release expands on this first glimpse at Cantata. Set in a mysterious world steeped in mystical sci-fi lore and full of dangers, players sign up as one of nine commanding officers across three factions. As you expand and explore your reach across new horizons, expect tactical turn-based battles across huge maps and a gorgeous aesthetic that mixes retro video games and golden-age comic book creations.
Developer Afterschool Studios has also announced that anybody landing on the planet of Shoal can expect ongoing updates that include multiplayer action, unlimited map creation, and more.
