Cube Royale brings block-based battles to Steam Early Access on 4 December
Ditch the machine gun and prepare to plunge into a world of square sided combat mechanics when Cube Royale hits Early Access. We’re all for subverting genre tropes but it seems that indie developer Creature Factory took the multiplayer chaos of Tetris 99 and fused it with Bomberman for a new multiplayer experience that is coming to Steam Early Access on 4th December.
The news that we’ll soon be able to play as a six faced murder machine is a lot more fun than it initially sounds. A trailer for the upcoming release introduces a square plying filed, where blocks of differing color and capability will attempt to utilize strategic moves and special abilities to remove opponents from the board. Be the last one standing.
Cannon blocks, Bow Arrows blocks, Tunnels, Blockades, Mushrooms, and more provide plenty of power ups during a battle, allowing players to defeat rivals, set traps, or trigger chain reactions. Stay alive and gather the most points to win the match! Along with cute custom skins, game changing mechanics, and an adorable aesthetic, this light hearted cube crushing game looks like a wonderfully chaotic arena to anywhere from 2 to 6 players, solo or in teams.
