Following a couple of videos dedicated to the lore side of things, developer Blizzard Entertainment rolled out the gameplay launch trailer for aRPG Diablo IV. The gates of hell are preparing to burst open on June 6th, letting teeming hordes rampage across the planes of Sanctuary.
The events of the game take place 50 years after The Reaper of Souls – the major expansion to Diablo III that told the story of Archangel Malthael and his crusade against the mortals of Sanctuary. The world has not yet totally healed from that tragedy.
As the progenitors of this world return, the fate of Sanctuary hangs on a thread, just a step away from destruction, and you will be the one to see it through. Choose between five playable classes – Necromancer, Sorcerer, Barbarian, Druid or Rogue – and combat the unremitting darkness enhanced by Lilith’s arrival.
The developers have also previously outlined the post-launch content that will be available in Diablo 4 once the game releases. Players are in for Seasons, Season Journeys (a set of Objectives to guide you), Battle Passes of different varieties, Cosmetics and more. You can find out more here.
