Diablo IV Shared Some Interesting Open Beta Stats

Developer Blizzard Entertainment has taken to Twitter to reveal some exciting facts from the recently held Diablo IV open beta. It was running between March 24th and March 27th and featured all 5 playable classes, the first available zone Fractured Peaks, world boss Ashava and an opportunity to earn the Beta Wolf Pack cosmetic item.

“With 62M hours played, thank you for making DiabloIV the largest Beta in Diablo franchise history. This is just the beginning. Hell welcomes all on 6.6.23.”

Here are some numbers:

  • Diablo IV Open Beta players spent over 61 million hours in-game;
  • The heroes of Sanctuary have killed almost 30 billion monsters while perishing 50 million times themselves. Out of those, over 1.5 million deaths were brought by the good ol’ Butcher. The monster itself had been killed 576 thousands times in retaliation;
  • 2.6 million players earned the Beta Wolf Packs (which required reaching Level 20) with the most popular classes being Sorcerer and Necromancer;
  • World boss Ashava had been slain 107 thousands times and managed to wipe out over 10 million players in the process.

ABOUT DIABLO IV:

Eons after her exile, Lilith’s summoning ushers in an age of darkness and hatred. Inarius, former archangel of the High Heavens, has also returned to the world he and Lilith created together. The two will once again cross paths, and what was built is now at risk of destruction. On June 6, 2023, players will be able to take on the role of Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, or Sorceress and traverse an expansive Sanctuary to combat the unremitting darkness enhanced by Lilith’s return.
