Dreamsnaps Update Brings a New Game Mode to Disney Dreamlight Valley

Gameloft and Disney have announced that the DreamSnaps update has finally arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Players will find new content to explore, including a new game mode, and will get a chance to meet Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph.

To showcase the new content, developers released an all-new trailer providing viewers with a peek inside the update.

Disney fans will immediately recognize Vanellope from the Wreck-It Ralph films. She races into the game with “candy-sweet cuteness” and her own opinions on how the Valley should “level up.” She is a consummate game, after all. She provides players with a series of game-inspired quests, including Extreme Valley Design and LARPing.

The update also brings a new game mode to the DDV community. With DreamSnaps, players can complete competitive weekly design challenges to earn a new in-game currency called “Pixel Dust.” Challenges change every week so players will need to be on their toes.

DreamSnaps

  • Weekly challenges appear in the Event tab.
  • A description of the challenge is included and whether Furniture or Clothing is required to complete it.
  • Certain items will be mandatory to include and to raise the final score.
  • The final score determines the amount of Pixel Dust received at the end of the challenge.
  • Players use Pixel Dust to level up the special DreamSnaps track to unlock rewards such as clothing, furniture, or Moonstones.
  • Players use Photo Mode to take a picture of their final creation and submit it for that week’s challenge. Other players vote on the best of the best to earn Moonstones.
  • All participants receive a minimum of 300 Moonstones and a “randomized selection of furniture or clothing items”

Finally, the update includes a number of quality-of-life improvements that continue to be deployed during early access.
