Novaquark has announced that its ambitious space-themed MMORPG Dual Universe is setting a course for retail launch on September 27, 2022. The game has been in development for eight years and in beta testing for two years. Developers have indicated that it will be available for PC via Steam or the game’s official site. Once launch day arrives, those on the fence about purchasing DU will be able to experience elements of the game thanks to a 2-week free trial on a separate server from the main game.
DU utilizes a single server system with the entire game universe shared by all players. Features include the ability to build anything using the modular components system, and everyone is invited to participate in a player-driven economy. Other features include the ability to form organizations, wage war with one another, and much more. Throughout beta testing, numerous improvements, bug fixes, and feature enhancements have been deployed, including space warfare, new VFX, asteroid discovery/mining, space markets, automated mining, a new player experience, visual/performance enhancements, and more.
“Dual Universe’s upcoming launch offers players the opportunity to relive the excitement of discovering Helios’ immense planets all over again alongside new and familiar faces,” adds Cyrille Fontaine, Creative Director at Novaquark. “With the many additions and improvements that we added during beta, we know that the game has solid foundations to propose an experience like no other, which we can continue to build upon..”
