EA Inks Deal for Three Marvel Games

EA Mavel Collab

EA and Marvel have announced that the two have inked a new deal to bring at least three Marvel action-adventure games to PC and consoles in the coming years. The games will all be set in the Marvel universe but feature original stories. Motive Studio is already at work on the first game. The game will be a single-player, third-person, action-adventure game starring Iron Man.

The Iron Man game will feature an original narrative that hearkens back to the rich history of the character. According to the dev team, it channels the “complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark.” This allows players to feel what it is truly like to play as Iron Man. Motive Studios is tapping into the experience of Olivier Proulx, who has worked on Marvel titles in the past, including Guardians of the Galaxy and others. He joins “a dedicated team of passionate industry veterans, including Ian Frazier, Maelenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier.

“We have been long-time fans of Marvel and their impressive leadership. So this is a remarkable moment for our developers as well as our players and fans,” said Laura Miele, COO at EA. “We look forward to welcoming Marvel into the EA family of creators. This collaboration will produce exceptional experiences for our players. We can’t wait to see players’ reactions when they suit up as Iron Man.”

“We strive to find best-in-class teams who can take our characters on heroic journeys in ways they haven’t before. Collaborating with Electronic Arts will help us achieve that,” said Jay Ong, Executive Vice President at Marvel Games. “We pride ourselves on being enthusiastic, creative collaborators with developers. They have the freedom to create something deeply unique and truly remarkable. The team at Motive is getting started on that with their Iron Man video game. We can’t wait for players to learn more in the far future.”
