Get in the Vera Sector Shinji!

Perfect World Games has unveiled details about the upcoming Tower of Fantasy collaboration with Neon Genesis Evangelion. Due to make land and cause a Tower of Fantasy crisis event across PlayStation platforms during the first half of 2024, this new anime inspired crossover is going to include far more than a simple cash shop grab.

Titled “Evangelion Fantasy”, the upcoming event will see players embarking on a new adventure with Shinji Ikari, Asuka Shikinami Langley, and Rei Ayanami in the Vera Sector, facing the Angels and collectively overcoming the crisis.

That means more than just pasting in characters from another world. The Tower of Fantasy team promised EVA units—EVA-00, EVA-01, and EVA-02—in a 1:1 scale. Giant mechs dominating the landscape and even recreating scenes form this iconic anime.

While players will have an opportunity to pull for simulacrums of Asuka Shikinami Langley and Rei Ayanami from the event banners, I’m more enthused about the arrival of an even bigger star. Pen Pen will waddle into Aida as a smart servant, accompanying players on their journey.

More New Frontiers

Before the impending Angel attack arrives, players in this far future adventure will be able to explore a brand new map. On 30 January, version 3.6 arrives and unlocks the Aquaville map. This is the final piece of Domain 9 and features a distinct sci-fi aesthetic. Form the Distant Beacon Cabin 8 to the gravity rails and the unusual aspect of a folded city, this is likely to be a far cry from other fantasy worlds like Teyvat.

If you’re a gacha gaming fan that jumped on board for the launch of this anime inspired free to play then there’s tons more coming up for you to enjoy. Alongside version 3.6, there’s a physical release incoming, a glimpse of version 4.0, and more. If you’ve not experienced this exciting open world RPG, then you can try it out for free on PC, iOS, and Android as the latest Tower of Fantasy crisis kicks off.
