Farming In FFXIV But Not Quite As Expected In Island Sanctuary Patch

Farming In FFXIV - actual hickens in real life

Square Enix is preparing for the release of FFXIV Patch 6.2 with a farmathon of epic proportions and a weeklong livestream from Mogchute Farm.

The pre release events for Final Fantasy XIV’s latest patch are under way. Ahead of the Island Sanctuary patch, the team behind this massive online MMO are giving players a taste of life out on the range. From 1PM BST on 19 August, players will get to experience some of the solo play that comes with the latest patch, but this farming isn’t like any dungeon run you’ve seen before.

Instead, the general population will be able to build and customise their own personal farm in-game on an island paradise abundant with wildlife, by gathering materials, building facilities, caring for creatures, and more, all without the need for prior crafting or gathering experience. This casual play experience will make an appearance, wit the 7 days of play focusing on several farmyard favorites. Viewers can follow their daily routines of feeds, frolics, and festivities, and will be invited to vote on what animals will be fed on stream. Yes, just to be clear, Mogchute Farm will be an IRL experience. It will take place at Mudchute Farm, a registered charity with care for the environment at the heart of their mission.

If you want to see cute fuzzies getting fed, you can head over to the official FFXIV twitch at 9:15am – 9:30am BST and 4:00pm – 4:15pm BST during the pre patch period, and spend the time between catching up with the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast or find out more about iIsland Sanctuary at the official site.
