All aboard the hype train, the next stop: Fontaine! Developer HoYoverse revealed the date for the upcoming Version 4.0 special program. Players will be able to get some juicy details on Version 4.0: As Light Rain Falls Without Reason on August 4th. As always, the livestream will also drop a number of promocodes for some sweet Primogems. Gotta build the stash for all the new shiny characters!
The Special Program will premiere on the official Twitch channel at 07:30 AM (UTC-4)! If you are not a fan of the platform, the translation will also be uploaded to Youtube channel an hour later. What new wonders await our Traveler in the new region?
Previously, the developers have shared the Overture Teaser “The Final Feast” to introduce Travelers to some Fontaine players.
Upcoming QoL Improvements:
Additionally, the team shared a new entry for developer discussion blog post, outlining the upcoming improvements and QoL enhancements coming to the game. Increased inventory limit, new battle pass weapons & more await players in the new version. Check out the blog post to read the entirety of the update or look at the list below:
- Artifact Inventory Limit will be increased to 1,800 from 1,500;
- 8 Artifact Sets that can be exchanged will be added to “Mystic Offering” in the Crafting Bench;
- The destruction function of Artifacts in your Inventory will be optimized, where you can add 4-Star Artifacts at once;
The team has more optimization functions for Artifacts in the plans. Those include optimization of locking Artifacts, a way for the Travelers to select and equip Artifacts as quickly as possible and more.
But the Artifact system is not the only one getting updates! Check out more QoL features coming in Version 4.0 in the list below:
- New Battle Pass weapons.
- New Genius Invokation TCG Function: Observe Duel.
- Gyroscope controller support on some platforms.
- If you have completed the Archon Quest in Mondstadt, a Teleport Waypoint in Sumeru’s Realm of Farakhkert will unlock automatically. You will be able to use this to quickly arrive near Fontaine.
- The Multi-Layered Map will be officially available after the Version 4.0 update. It will also include some existing areas in addition to Fontaine.

What we’d like to share here is that the relevant optimizations are currently in the pipeline. When the time comes, Travelers will be able to obtain daily rewards in a new format.
