Get Merry and Grab the Gangs of Sherwood Demo on Steam

Gangs of Sherwood

A sunny English countryside and thigh slapping companions definitely do not await you with the new gangs of Sherwood Demo on Steam

Prepare to enter a new version of a classic tale in the demo for upcoming action-adventure gangs of Sherwood. Available now on Steam and free to try out until 27 November, the latest title coming out of Nacon is a slick reinvention of a traditional tale. Plunging players into a futuristic dystopia where the evil Sheriff of Nottingham wields a powerful stone. Imbued with powerful magics, his army has become unstoppable, so probably best to take aim and let some arrows fly.

If you check out the trailer for the upcoming adventure, you might notice a few changes form the story book origins. England has had something of a technological break through or two, but still retains a ye ‘olde charm. The mix of historical elements and fresh gameplay has it feeling a little in the vein of Lies of P, without the Souls grind. That twist requires a new type of hero.

The Merry Men that you’ll encounter in the new demo are a different sort of liberation force. Four iconic heroes from the legend of Robin Hood lead this rebellion, and in Gangs of Sherwood, you can play as Maid Marian, the sheriff’s daughter and expert assassin; Friar Tuck, a monk and healer; Little John, a warrior with a steel fist; and, of course, the famous archer Robin of Locksley. Wielding their own powers and abilities, you’ll be able to customize your combat, unlock new combos and fragments, and pull of devastating combos as part of a team. That means both solo and co-op gameplay in this dark new take on a traditional tale.

While co-op online dungeon runs are always a bit of a mixed bag and require a critical mass of players, this is certainly likely to be better than some of Nacon’s other fantasy spin offs. Even better, you can check out the demo before the adventure begins and find out if you’re up to the task. Grab the Steam demo now on the Steam Store page.
