Go Your Own Way with the Dakar Desert Rally Free Custom Roadbook Editor

Dakar Desert Rally has a new free Custom Roadbook Editor, giving racers a chance to run riot in their own custom challenges.

Dakar Desert Rally’s released in October 2023, challenging players across Pc and console to dabble with dunes and dirt as they raced for victory over the unique terrain of an iconic motorsport course. Now, anybody looking to try their own twist on the Dakar Desert circuit can do so, with the free Fall 2023 update. This gratis add on for the core game will provide players with a whole bunch of game enhancements, quality of life fixes, and the tools to create your own intensely challenging off-road race events and stages, then share them with the world!

While the editor option pretty much does exactly what it advertises, giving racers the option to workshop a new race day, there are plenty of other new additions too. The full patch notes confirm that Dakar now has a Replay and Photo Mode. Photo mode is exactly what it sounds like. Replay Mode allows players to review their driving performance through replays. Switch between different camera angles to closely observe every detail of your race. Once you’re sure you’ve got all the corners covered, then a new Sport Game mode and Professional Game mode aim to provide more ways to play Dakar Desert Rally.

There are new cars entering the fold too. The Audi RS Q e-tron and SnowRunner Cars Pack DLC come in for free. This adds the TUZ 166, DON 71, KHAN 39, KHAN 317, and KHAN L04F SnowRunners to the grid, with paying players able to grab a Hybrid and Classics pack as a paid download.

Dakar Desert Rally is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It brings the extreme conditions of one the world’s more unique motorsports events onto your desktop and is available now. Find out more on the official Dakar Desert Rally website.
