Homeworld 3 specifications will support Ray Tracing up to 4K on PC
Gearbox publishing and developer Blackbird Interactive just revealed the PC specifications for upcoming RTS threequel Homeworld 3. The new PC specs dropped on a blog post, on the official website, detailing the minimum requirements to get the mothership moving and the top end of the market too.
The latest instalment in this iconic Sci-fi RTS will bring some huge battles in immersive 3D, all backed by Ray Tracing in 4K. So, will your rig have enough power to reach escape velocity.
At the bottom end of the scale, players looking to venture out into the ether in 1080p can take on the latest title with the following minimum hardware:
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 / AMD R9 480 / Intel Arc A380
CPU: AMD Ryzen R5 3600X / Intel i5 8600K
RAM: 12GB
VRAM: 6GB
OS: Win 10 / 11 64 Bit
HDD: 40GB
Anybody looking to leverage Ray Tracing will need a substantial 8 or 16GB of VRAM available and a recent GPU, like the RXT 3060 or better. This will need to be coupled with 16GB of Ram and a more recent processor. Anything form the Ryzen 5 5500 up to the intel i7-14900K. While HDR and subtle shadows will make the vistas and cosmic entities in Homeworld 3 look fantastic, performance will be hugely helped by confirmation that DLSS3 and Frame Generation are supported for compatible NVIDIA graphics card, as well as AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 2.
Thankfully, for anybody who wants to upgrade ahead of the launch date, there is plenty of time. Homeworld 3 will take players back into the galaxy. Following on form the iconic series, known space has experienced an age of abundance thanks to the Hyperspace Gate Network. Cycles of plenty and war have come and gone. Now the gates themselves are catastrophically failing and Karan, who has passed into myth and religious idolatry, is the key to the mystery threatening a galaxy’s future. Brining back fully 3D battles, the latest Homeworld adds a new tory and giant hulking space derelicts to add 3D terrain to the battlefield.
