After splitting from Square Enix, developer IO Interactive has teamed up with Warner Bros. to launch Hitman: The Definitive Edition for the Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4, and PS4 Pro! You might, or might not, know that IO Interactive split ways with Square Enix last year when Square dropped the studio due to “extraordinary loss.” This allowed the studio to go independent and launch this new Hitman: The Definitive Edition, with the help from Warner Bros. The game was announced back in April, and is now available today for all consoles except the PC.
Hitman was released in 2016 with episode one. The season ended in January, 2018. The Definitive edition combines all of the previous episodes and content into a single purchase game. For fans that haven’t made that buy just yet, now may be the time!
It’s still unclear how the studio going independent will affect the future of the franchise, let alone the other IP’s they have in the works. Here’s to hoping they keep it fresh and good!
