Hyper Light Breaker is about to smash its way into Early Access this Fall and there’s a brand new trailer to tease us all.
The latest in the Hyper Light series is set to leap headlong into Early Access later this year, according to news from developer Heart Machine and Gearbox Publishing.
While plenty of you may still be busy bashing your way through Hyper Light Drifter, the first in this series is almost 7 years old, and its time for something new. Now we have a better idea what and when that will be. Hyper Light Drifter first launched itself into the gaming consciousness back in 2016, but now we have a new trailer and a release window. During Fall 2023, players will be able to take their first steps back into the same universe, when a Hyper Light 3D co-op rogue-lite adventure arrives.
While this news does not constitute a full release, we already know. A lot about this new title. Anybody trying out the earliest builds will find themselves playing as a Breaker, a mercenary tasked with entering the Overgrowth. This realm is overrun and in disarray, requiring the bravest souls to overcome the feral chaos that awaits. Heading in solo or with up to 3 other friends, players will explore large procedurally-generated biomes in a vibrant open world, encounter brutal monsters, create new character builds, fight against mysterious bosses known as Crowns, and overthrow the ominous Abyss King.
This bright new future for a critically acclaimed universe already has us full of anticipation.
