Path of Exile –Starter Tips for Leveling

Getting started in Path of Exile can be overwhelming when it comes to leveling, so here are a few tips to get you on your way.
Path of Exile

If you are new to Path of Exile, then needless to say you are probably still trying to get your head around a lot of features in the game. You have everything from PoE currency to making the most of the marketplace with PoE Trade, PoE uniques, and using different kinds of PoE orbs. Amongst this, you are probably also questioning how leveling works. Thankfully, this short Path of Exile leveling guide is here to help.

Level 1-65

To start with, all you need to worry about really are blue packs. This goes on up until level 30, so you won’t have to focus on side quests as much either. However, going from level 30 onwards you will want to pay more attention to the evolution of your character through their PoE build. Your main concern is to keep farming XP as much as possible, but if you feel confident enough, then you are free to deal with any mobs as you see fit. If you would prefer just to keep grinding XP, then check out places like the Dried Lake or the docks to advance further.

Level 65 and Beyond

When you reach this bracket, you can start running at least non-red maps. You can continue to do this through to level 90, after which you can then look into farming PoE currency for you to use in the game. You are now reaching the higher levels of Path of Exile, so you will start completing maps. You can alter the difficulty of these maps to reap better rewards and experience, at the obvious cost of it being harder to complete. However, you will notice a dip in leveling up when you start to reach these levels, in terms of how quickly you level up. Mapping however is a necessary step in enhancing your character.

Play in Groups

If you have the opportunity to do so, then playing in a group can help you a lot. It can help you reach higher levels much quicker, with less stress. Within each town, you will notice that there is a noticeboard. These are used for you to either create a group for people to join or for you to join a group of other players. Even though joining a group will increase the difficulty of enemies, you will still be able to have the support of other players, and take advantage of others’ buffs and more.

Finding the Best Gear

Choosing the right gear is vital in Path of Exile for your build. It can be hard but you need to play smart with your PoE currency to get the most out of your PoE build’s gear. You will want to find the gear that has gems to fit your particular PoE build, so keep an eye on this, as it will be difficult to maintain as the game goes on. Look to upgrade your gear every 10 levels or around that time, and you should do fine. Finding suitable gear is more important than splashing all of your currency on something at once.

Where to Farm

Knowing where to farm is important too. You can do so in populated areas in each act, such as The Ledge in the first act, or Fellshrine Ruins in act 2. Then when you reach act 3, you can head to the likes of The City of Sarn or the docks that we mentioned earlier. By going over these areas, you will be able to level up in no time.

These are some early tips for you to get started with leveling in Path of Exile. Overall, there is a lot to learn, but you will be growing as a character as you go along. There are so many customization options in the game that it’s hard to go wrong, or at least rectify any mistakes that you have made going forward.
