Polish independent developer Bnayat Games S.A has announced a new high-stakes bomb disposal experience titled Shockwave: Land of the Blind.
Just revealed and set to come to PC in early 2023, this immersive first-person title brings players to a post-war Aleppo and puts them at the heart of a dangerous new adventure. Set in modern-day Syria, Land of the Blind follows the tale of Jerome Kowalsky, an ex-military Sapper now turned peacekeeper. Unfortunately, their steady hands are going to get plenty of work as a determined bombmaker begins to terrorize the precarious lives of a community striving to rebuild among the warn torn remains of this Aleppo.
Thrusting players into a range of scenarios, players will have to rely on their wits and skill as they focus on stealth, steady movements, and their own intel to overcome the threats posed to the local communities. Rather than provide a quest log and a mini-map, or plenty of
in-game tooltips, Land of the Blind has a more freeform approach expecting players to choose their own path and live with those decisions. There will be some failsafes from failure. Jerome is entombed in a full Advanced Bomb Suit designed to protect from fragmentation, blast overpressure, impact, heat, and flame. The team behind this title has opted for an authentic experience that’ll either prove wildly popular or blow you up, thanks to the input of world-leading IED experts from GROM, a Polish Special Forces Military unit well versed in modern-day warfare and tactical countermeasures.
“We’re excited to officially reveal the nerve-shredding experience of what it takes to be a bomb disposal specialist working under extremely dangerous conditions. It’s our goal to provide players with a narrative-driven, thought-provoking, and technically superior first-person military game about the individuals who undertake one of the most difficult jobs on the planet in their effort to save life” Said Jamal Bnayat, CEO of Bnayat Games S.A.
With this unusual new take on war stories, we will get to see the aftermath of run and gun tales. So, if you’re a little worn thin on looter shooters or dispatching cannon fodder in COD and want to see what it takes to clean up after the latest battlefield, then take a safe trip to the Steam Store page now.
