Skeleton Crew, the newest game from indie specialist Modern Wolf, has set sail on Steam now.
Available for PC, via the massive online storefront, this brand new game is a chaotic multiplayer brawler with something of a spooky slant. Developed by Cinder Cone and unfolding over 17 hand crafted stages, this maddening co-op drags adventurers and their friends into an eerie experience full of garish ghouls, nasty skeletons, and beastly bosses. Up to 4 players can log in and support each other across local split screen and online multiplayer as part of a crew. Each player character can choose from 12 upgradeable heroes and kick, aim and “yeet” items such as skulls, cabbages, and other characters at enemies as they progress through the gothic world of Karpathia.
This charming looking title comes to life because of a focused team, formed by Lawrence Bishop, of Firewatch fame, and Tancred Dyke-Wells, who is the creator of the Art Academy and Battalion War. With plenty of pedigree behind the team, an adorable aesthetic, and plenty of outlandish action, Skeleton Crew ha plenty of meat on its bones.
If you’re looking for a platform brawler that is more fun than your average Hellmouth ascension, Skeleton Crew is probably worth a look. Skeleton Crew is out now and available via Steam for $14.99 / £10.99 (with a 10% discount for launch week). A Slayer Edition bundle is also available for $19.99 / £15.99, including the official soundtrack and the digital ‘Origins’ comic book.
