During last week’s D23 Expo 2022, Disney, Marvel Entertainment, and Skydance New Media introduced and all-new game based in the Marvel Universe. Of course, teasing a game means revealing a pittance of what it is, however, we do know a few things. It is a narrative-driven ensemble adventure set during WWII. Award-winning writer and director Amy Hennig heads the development team.
“We’re so grateful for all the enthusiasm and support we’ve received from fans, and we’re thrilled to finally unveil a first glimpse of the game during this year’s D23 Expo,” said Hennig, President, Skydance New Media. “Marvel has been an incredible partner throughout the creative process as we develop an original story and build an exciting new team of characters. We hope fans are intrigued by this sneak peek, and we’re excited to share more down the road.”
The narrative takes place in the dangerous days of World War 2. During the game, four characters will play a part. Each will be featured in specific sections of the game. The four are:
- Steve Rogers who later becomes Captain America
- Azzuri, the WWII Black Panther
- Gabriel Jones, member of the Howling Commandos
- Nanali, leader of the Wakandan Spy Network
On the more technical side, players will enjoy intuitive controls, exciting Marvel action, locations immortalized in comics, TV, and films. It’s all wrapped in a globe-trotting original story.
Skydance New Media was formed in 2019 to explore new frontiers in interactive storytelling. The studio has assembled a team of veteran developers and artists with decades of AAA experience in action and adventure gaming, as well as a diverse team of creative consultants from the worlds of film, television, games, and comics.
