Warner Bros. Games has updated the MultiVersus site with the news that the current open beta phase of the game will be ending on June 25th. Players will not have access to the game from that date through its launch in “early 2024.” According to IGN, players are disappointed with the decision to keep servers offline for 6+ months. Many of those most vocal about this decision are those who have spent money on in-game items during open beta.
I’m sure you’re wondering what this means for you. During this downtime, all online modes and features will be unavailable. You will have limited offline access to the training room (known as The Lab) and local matches, along with access to your characters and cosmetic items within these modes.
According to the FAQ linked from the developer post, no refunds will be issued to players who have spent real-world dollars for in-game items.
Will refunds be available for previously purchased content?
This announcement does not change any current refund policies or terms offered by the storefront(s) from which Founder’s Packs or Gleamium bundles were purchased. For more information, please visit the customer support pages for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic Games. Additionally, refunds are not available as a result of the Open Beta Phase closure. However, all progress and previously earned or purchased content will carry over when MultiVersus returns in early 2024.
It needs to be noted that the FAQ also states that “all progress and previously earned or purchased content will carry over when the game returns in early 2024.”
