Muv-Luv, the mecha battle series from aNCHOR Inc, just dropped a cache of new announcements during Comiket 99, including Muv-Luv INTEGRATE and Muv-Luv Resonative.

While our side of the world was busy sleeping, Tokyo’s Comiket 99 was in full swing, and fans of everything anime got tons of news to sift through. Publisher aNCHOR Inc dropped a plethora of updates related to mecha series Muv-Luv during the exhibition with confirmation that fans will get new games, anime, and other collabs coming soon.

Muv-Luv INTEGRATE PV

First announced back in 2019, Muv-Luv Integrate PV is the first true sequel to Muv-Luv Alternative. The original visual novel hit Steam back in 2017 and captured fans’ imagination with overwhelmingly positive reviews and a storyline that finds players waking in a strange world, locked in a decades-long struggle against the ruthless extra-terrestrial invaders known only as the BETA. We won’t ruin the rest of this story but suffice to say it has spawned prequels, spin offs, animes, and plenty of other media franchises. Now fans of the Muv-Luv franchise can get a glimpse at what’s coming with a brand new trailer from Comiket 99.

Muv-Luv Resonative

Another new title update, Muv-Luv Resonative is an upcoming release that continues the Muv Luv Unlimited: The Day After series. One of the aforementioned spin offs you can expect from the Muv-Luv franchise, this novel tells the story of an Earth which was completely destroyed in an apocalyptic blast, and the alien invaders won. Following the harrowing battle for a few more days of life, this isn’t the upbeat anime that you might expect from the cover art but does provide a great entry point for the franchise that doesn’t rely on navigating the perplexing array of timelines and titles in the series. You can check out the trailer for this almost stand-alone game above and check out the official portal page.

Aside from the two brand new trailers, Project MIKHAIL got a new producer letter, which explains our plans for upcoming updates in the future based on feedback from fans around the world. The early access title locked and loaded for the first time on November 2021 and is currently making swift progress, overhauling several systems in the near future. While Project Mikhail makes its way towards release, the brand new Immortals: Muv-Luv Alternative is due to arrive on smartphones in February 2022 in Japan and Muv-Luv EXTRA/UNLIMITED is finally coming to smartphones this year. For now, I’m going to jsut kick back and watch the anime on Crunchyroll before the second season hits. For more on the Muv-Luv franchise, check out the official website.
