Overwatch 2 - Blizzard Outlined Next Steps For the Game

Developer Blizzard Entertainment shared a new blog post dedicated to the next steps for Overwatch 2 now that the game has been officially released. Launching the game as a live service product came with amazing opportunities and challenges, both anticipated and unexpected. The team has largely stabilized the game and made a lot of progress on fixing or improving the issues reported by the players.

According to the blog post, the developers continue working to deploy further stability updates and are monitoring the game closely for emergent bugs:

“We apologize for any issues players experienced around the game’s launch. To help make up for any lost time, we’re planning to run several Double Match XP weekends: we will confirm the specific dates for these soon. We’ll also be giving all players who log in from October 25 through to the end of Season One an all-new Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary skin and a Health Pack Weapon Charm. These items will become part of your collection from the first time you log in during that time window.”

The blog post also took time to remind new and returning players of all the changes that have arrived with the sequel, in particular the battle pass, shop, Hero unlocks as well as account merging between PC and console. Of course, the three new heroes – Sojourn, Junker Queen and Kiriko – also got mentioned.

The developers are excited with how is on the horizon and beyond for Overwatch 2. There will be an update on other game feedback later in the week. Stay tuned to find out more.
