Developer Blizzard Entertainment revealed that the next chapter in WoW Classic saga begins on August 24 with the release of the Hardcore realms. If this is your first time hearing of them, the main different between the normal Classic and the Hardcore realms is the addition of perma-death.
“You only have one life to live, and the Spirit Healers won’t be there to send you back out into the world of the living when you die. Death is permanent, and once you’ve been bested by the environment (or even other players), you’ll need to dust yourself off and create a new character to try again.”
Are you interested in trying to reach the level cap on the Hardcore realm? Having a perma-death mechanic makes even the mundane activities like leveling, taking on elites or tough quest mobs something unique. Let alone running into the opposite faction somewhere in Stranglethorn or being challenged to a duel.
Previously the developers have outlined what happens if you character met an unfortunate end. There are two main options: remain as a ghost to finish some of the tasks like passing on a guild leadership or swap your character to non-Hardcore realm. Of course, you can always start a new character and try the journey again!
