Rush to Victory in New World: Blood of the Sands

New World: Blood of the Sands

New World: Blood of the Sands is available now, launching the second season of Amazon’s headline MMORPG

Aeternum is in a state of conflict and the realms are ready to do battle. Outpost Rush is clawing at the walls between servers and there’s war in the air. The second season of New World is live and the means a new threat, or maybe just some adventure.

The latest installment in this online RPG’s story is set to throw players into a totally unexpected direction. An ancient group called the Blood of the Sands, and their leader Malek, have emerged from the shadows, seeking help locating the eggs of the massive creature known as the Devourer. Building on the first season of narrative content, launched back in April, the Silver Crows and Rima the bard will follow this call and attempt to uncover the truth of the Shah Neshen.

Alongside a mysterious new threat, New World will unlock exciting PvE content in the Arena of Shah Neshen the Devourer. Here, defeating a massive sandwurm will take 20 max level players and could mean elite rewards for successful warriors.

In addition, PvE content will add an extra a new Elite Trial and Seasonal Trial, and The Devourer Heartrune Ability.

Anybody delving in can also expect a cross-world Outpost Rush, giving players the opportunity to man the cannons and battle to be king of the fort against a whole new set of faces. A new Transmog feature will drop in too, using a consumable Transmog tokens to capture the appearance of any gear collected in the world and transform it into a usable skin.

Anybody picking up the Blood of the Sands Season Pass can expect plenty of these. The new tracks feature rewards such as Transmog tokens and new chests, as well as new cosmetics like the Dry-Blood Armor Set, and emotes, including the Worm Dance. There are two reward tracks — free and premium — each with 100 tiers of unlockable rewards.

Like any major update, you should expect new dangers and updates to the world map. With this new foray into the wild, who know what might be lying in wait.
This might only be the second consecutive episodic update, but this approach to storytelling is definitely starting to feel a lot like the Guild Wars 2 Living World. That’s no bad thing, either. It provides plenty of ongoing content, lots of interesting room to experiment, and a solid connection to this mysterious MMO. There’s still plenty of time to jump in and catch up to the Silver Crows. Check out everything coming, and what you’ve missed, over on the New World website now.
