The weekend is over and the first-ever Path of Exile “ExileCon” is in the bag. Grinding Gear Games revealed a host of exciting new announcements. Let’s take a look at what the developers revealed!
Path of Exile 2
PoE 2 “is a new seven-act storyline that is available alongside the original PoE 1 campaign”. It takes place 20 years after the events of PoE 1 but ultimately leads to the same Atlas endgame. PoE 2 will provide players with all of the content since the original game launched but will also feature “a new skill system, ascendancy classes, engine improvements, and more”.
Players will find 19 new ascendancy classes to choose from. While the overall class archetypes are the same as the original game, the 19 new ascendancy classes will be vastly different from the ones on PoE1.
Other features of PoE 2 include a new skill gem system, all-new equipment and more.
Beta testing is currently planned for the end of 2020.

Path of Exile: Conquerors of the Atlas
Conquerors of the Atlas is the 3.9.0 update coming to Path of Exile that will bring new endgame mechanics, five new endgame bosses, a new support gem, updates to the bow system, new items, and a new league (see below).
Path of Exile: Metamorph League
“In each area you play in the Metamorph League, Tane will collect samples from selected monsters you have killed. Summon Tane to combine your choice of samples to create a formidable Metamorphic foe to defeat. Each sample contributes abilities to this boss, who wildly morphs from form to form during the encounter. With careful selection of samples, you control which abilities the boss has and what rewards it yields.”
Participants will find new Catalysts, a currency item that “adds quality to jewelry”.
Path of Exile Mobile
Last but not least, Grinding Gear Games has announced a mobile version of the game. The team is committed to bringing a true PoE game to mobile devices without the compromises that have been made with other games. It’s a fully-featured game with the deep gameplay systems that players expect from the PC version of the game. The mobile version of the game has been developed in-house by Grinding Gear.
