Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Update 1.2 & DLC #1 Revealed

Owlcat Games Revealed Major Update 1.2.0e For Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous

Developers of cRPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous have shared the release date of DLC#1. Titled Inevitable Excess, it will be launching on the 15th of February and tasking players with preserving the space-time continuum.

On top of it, it’s time to grab the brand new Free DLC: A Visitor from Distant Lands and get your own pet sovereign dragon that will assist you in Knowledge and Lore skill checks! Known for their wisdom, majestic sovereign dragons rarely leave their homeland of Tian Xia, and it is even more surprising to find one of them, young and brave, among the personal belongings of the heroes of the Fifth Crusade.

Additionally, Owlcat Games shared the patch notes for the upcoming massive patch 1.2.0e, aimed to introduce a number of changes and fixes to the game. Much like it was with the release of update 1.1.0, the patch has to spend a certain period of time in beta to avoid various possible issues.

If you want to try it out for yourself and see the changes firsthand, you have to switch the game to the beta test in the properties on Steam. Please back up your saves if you want to participate in beta, because the saves you make in version 1.2 may not be compatible with version 1.1.

Highlights:
  • Beer Elementals and Lager Beer Elementals finally look like beer!
  • Aivu’s caster level has been reduced, but she can now wear bardings instead;
  • Reworked Aivu’s Frightful Presence ability so that it can be now activated and deactivated;
  • Changed the visual of Mythic Aeon after the full transformation;
  • Fixed the issue which prevented the Masterful Dispel achievement from unlocking.

The patch also includes numerous tweaks and fixes for the crusade, various mythic paths and other aspects of the game (see below).

Known issues:
  • The beta version doesn’t include some free DLC functionality and pre-order items;
  • The beta version is not available on macOS;
  • When creating a new character, the character’s model is missing for now;
  • After entering some locations in Drezen with their skeletal companion, Lich won’t be able to exit – fix is coming soon.

You can find the full list of changes by visiting the game’s Steam page. As always, beware of spoilers! Some of the plot points of the game can be spoiled just by their description.

Lastly, Owlcats have announced Lunar New Year sale across Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store and revealed the delay of the console version of the game:

“The team is working hard on the console version of the game, and there’s steady progress. However, as we went forward, it became clear that we do need that extra time after all. We made the tough decision to postpone the launch on consoles to early autumn, 2022 so we can deliver the best gaming experience on console – as well as address any remaining issues on the PC edition. We believe that in the end it will be better for the game and hope for your patience and understanding.”
