Frontier Developments has announced that Planet Zoo will be updated with the Grasslands Animal Pack on December 13th. Players who wish to purchase the DLC will receive a plethora of new content to explore and several new species of animals. In addition, Frontier announced a free update for all players that includes several new features.
The Grasslands Animal Pack includes new creatures from grassland locations around the world. Eight new species will be added: the Nine-Banded Armadillo, the Maned Wolf, Emu, Caracal, the Red-Necked Wallaby, Striped Hyena, and the Blue Wildebeest. Players will also find five new species of Butterflies to showcase in their zoos. These new creatures can be added to the Walkthrough Exhibit. Species include Cloudless Sulphur, European Peacock, Menelaus Blue Morpho, Monarch, and Old World Swallowtail. Flying insects can be kept together “as Planet Zoo’s first-ever interspecies compatible exhibit animals.”
Zookeepers can also test out their management skills thanks to an enthralling new Career scenario set within the picturesque grasslands of Argentina. Players will help wealthy socialite Tiffany Summers – featured in the recent Twilight Pack scenario – earn her zookeeping permit. They’ll learn more about the important roles of animal care and conservation as they work to relocate the diverse inhabitants of her mansion grounds to a more suitable new home.
The free base game update gives players many new reasons to log in. Players can try out the all-new Guided Zoo Tours that maximize guest satisfaction and profit. Zookeepers can set their tour schedules that balance animal talks with breaks. This helps keep guests educated and energized. Players will also find the new Heatmap tool displays guest visibility. Lastly, players can check out the new terrain option in Sandbox mode that provides a set-up for budding builders.
