EA and Velan Studios have announced a new PC multiplayer game called Knockout City. The game allows players to relive their dodgeball glory days or take on the schoolyard bullies of yore to exact retribution. The game is considered an “action-packed team-based multiplayer game” that turns a childhood game into a brawl of epic proportion. The game will be released on May 21, 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin and Steam. Most interestingly, full cross-play between all versions of the game will be enabled from the get-go.
Players will be able to engage one another in free-for-all matches in Street Play or in team-based games of 3v3 or 4v4 in League Play. There are also Private Matches where Crews can work together to take opponents down. “The game is easy to pick up and play, but practice is key to mastering positioning, timing, and teamwork for dodgeBRAWL dominance.”
North American and European PC players can check out the game via a beta weekend taking place on February 20th and February 21st.
Once the game launches, it will be fully-featured and include:
- five multiplayer maps
- an interactive environment
- six ball types
- full character customization
- cross-play
- cross-progression
- Street Play with five starting playlists
- League Play
- Private Matches
- Street Rank Progression with cosmetic items
- free content updates through seasonal play
