Runeterra is about to get a brand-new adventure when the Soul Fighter event launches into action across League of Legends, Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra.

Riot games just announced a brand-new event that’s about to bring an incredible cross title event to Runeterra. Each of the hugely popular titles from Riot is set to take part in a brand-new Soul Fighter event, kicking off next month.

Beginning on 20 July and running right through until 28 August, players picking up any of the mainline Runeterra titles can expect brand new game modes, skins, gameplay features, and more. Inspired by your favourite anime tournament arc, the new event spills over from an alternate universe, dragging players into a colorful and diverse world where competitors fight to prove themselves the best of the best on the world’s biggest stage. The “Tournament of Souls” is a competition hosted by the mysterious God’s Eye, a grand arena where fighters with extraordinary abilities battle it out. Suffice to say, this immense battle will unfold in a number of different ways:

  • League of Legends – LoL will get a new Arena mode. Four teams of two players each fight one another in rotating combat rounds. Between rounds, teams can power up with unique Augments and head back into the fight to become the last one standing.
  • Teamfight Tactics – Soul Brawl is a temporary game mode coming to Teamfight Tactics. Players will head into two rounds, first to power up their Soul Crown. Following this, the Tournament phase begins, and players are eliminated in a best-of-three bracket tournament.
  • Wild Rift – Tag Duel is a bit more direct. Players will go one on one, picking a team of three champions that can tag out to help balance out a fight. Be the last one standing to win this one.

Legends of Runeterra won’t get a new game mode but does still get extra goodies. Like all the titles here, the card battler gets a bunch of new cosmetics and passes. New skins are set to drop into a number of the games, and you can even feel good about cashing out for them. Riot will contribute 20% of proceeds from Soul Fighter Samira, the Soul Fighter Event Pass, and all related bundle sales in League of Legends to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, across 1-28 August.
