Roadwarden Is A Welcome Return to text Based Adventuring

Assemble Entertainment just revealed a new teaser and some written details on upcoming text based RPG Roadwarden

Sometimes all the ray tracing in the world can’t beat your own imagination and getting down in the MUD with a good tale is the best answer to pretty, but ultimately empty, adventures. It seems Assemble Entertainment and developer Moral Anxiety Studios agree. The recently announced

Roadwarden is dumping high fidelity presentation for a text based title that will hit the trail on 8 September. Taking plenty of inspiration from RPGs, visual novels, and plenty of point, and choose your own adventure novels, this quest will invite players to take on an arduous journey across a mysterious peninsula. You’ll primarily be tasked with spreading the influence of a powerful merchant’s guild, but along the way the protagonist might very well uncover the secrets and face the challenges of a hostile world — inevitably unveiling its uniquely sinister history.
Merging elements of high fantasy and medieval romps, Roadwarden’s written narrative is accompanied by a distinct isometric pixel art style. The deliberately old school presentation means that gamers on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux will be able to play when it hits Steam. There’s even a playable demo available to download right now, and a new trailer, above, for those who only have a few minutes to decide on Wishlisting the game.

With over 40 hours of gameplay, dialogue choices that branch into hundreds of thousands of text lines, and progressively upgradable character abilities, Roadwarden is the kind of break from the AAA norm that catches the eye, and anybody looking to use their savvy and wiles to outwit adversaries and uncover what awaits can head over to the official Steam Store page to find out more. Roadwarden will be available to purchase on 8 September 2022 at £8.29 / €/$10.99 or local equivalent.
