Black Desert Throws Down The Gauntlet In Arena of Solare PvP Mode

Black Desert has kicked off an intense season of PvP yesterday, with the launch of Arena of Solare.

MMORPGs are almost synonymous with PvP play, and it seems that Pearl Abyss has thrown down the gauntlet with the launch of a new PvP mode. Arena of Solare is a fresh new twist on the long standing PvP experience in this online adventure, pulling players into a 3v3 fight where only the best will be left standing. This new mode is far more than just a new backdrop to another beat down, however. The latest arena uses equalized gear alongside matchmaking to give skilful play the best chance to succeed. While this is a welcome addition, it’s a system that games like Guild Wars 2 introduced a decade ago, and a welcome sight in Black Desert’s new mode.

Solare will play out across 3 battlefields. The Manshaum Forest, Jade Starlight Forest, and Cadry Ruins will all join the fray, meaning encounters could span open fields of the forest or have to work around the environmental obstacles in the Cadry Ruins. Thankfully, players won’t need to simply jump in and adapt to these environments on the fly. Peral Abyss has announced a Practice Mode will be available, to try out tactics, and get used to the surroundings. Players looking to jump into live play for points and prizes can expect Ranked Mode to open up Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3-10 p.m. PDT and Saturday and Sunday from noon-11 p.m. PDT, while Practice Mode is available across Tuesday and Thursday.

Loot

Season 1 of this epic new sparring session does bring rewards too. Black Desert players will find the following loot on offer, and not all of it is tied to taking down opposing players:

  • Log-in Rewards (August 17-24): Players that log in during the first week of the season will receive daily rewards such as Glory of Solare, an item where players can obtain consumables, and Value Packs that provide additional in-game buffs to characters.
  • Gloryseekers (August 17 – September 14): Players that are placed in the first, second, or third place of each class ranking at the end of the event period will receive a special outfit box.
  • Master of Solare (August 18 – October 12): Each week, players that win three times in the Ranked Mode will receive item enhancement materials like Cron Stone and Advice of Valks (+110).

In addition, anybody logging into the PlayStation version of Black Desert will be eager to know that Pearl Abyss has also announced a 3-year PlayStation anniversary event for Black Desert Console. Starting 24 August, PlayStation players can earn valuable items just by logging in each day and can also look forward to other various in-game events.

With Season 1 already ongoing, you’ll want to get in and do battle now and maybe find out how the Drakania holds up in action. For more information on the PlayStation loot and the Arena of Solare, check out the official Black Desert website now.
