Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space is set to bring gaming’s perfectly chaotic crimefighting duo back for another case when it lands on 8 December.
Younger generations of gamers might already know Ratchet and Clank, Yooka and Laylee, or even the Mario Brothers, but there’s another iconic old school duo making a comeback on PC and console next month. Following a successful first case earlier this year Sam & Max, a dog and rabbit detective duo are coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch for another unusual adventure.
The second remaster from indie studio Skunkape Games, brings the criminally neglected comedy capers of the Freelance Police back once again as Sam & Max investigate a bizarre case that involves a showdown with Santa Claus, a race to subdue a giant volcano, and a face-off with a Eurotrash vampire. And then things get even weirder. Originally released back in 2007 and the recipient of numerous awards, this remaster includes fantastically reimagined HD graphics, overhauled lighting and lip-sync, finessed cinematography, remastered audio, and eight all-new musical tracks featuring live jazz musicians.
If Santa Claus, Jazz improv, and a talking dog detective don’t sell this new case to you then I’m not really sure what to suggest. Maybe take a look at our glowing Sam & Max: Save the World review for reasons to pick up the second case file with these two.
