Sanctuary Saga – Prelude Gets a Release Date

Sanctuary Saga

Boomer’s Workshop has announced that its retro-inspired, party-based ARPG Sanctuary Saga will release the “Prelude” chapter on March 8th. Interested fans can wishlist the game on Steam before its release to stay informed of development milestones.

The Prelude chapter, or the game’s initial release, will offer players four unique biomes to explore. These range from forests to the “Deadlands” and each one introduces its own unique features and enemies. The game also offers players retro graphics around a new spin on party-based ARPG action. Some features are familiar, including players taking on a leadership role as any one of six different heroes. They’ll also be tasked with assembling a “guild” (i.e. party) to fight through the Untamed Wilds. Players will need to stay on their toes, however, and keep up morale and maintain relationships within the group. Battles are turn-based with a “row-based skill system” that offers a unique challenge to players. Row management and positioning are integral to success.

Unique to Sanctuary Saga: Prelude is the game’s argument meter. Monitoring the meter is very important during battle because if it gets too high, some party members might refuse to keep fighting. This mechanic is also tied into the game’s relationship system, where players can form bonds with other party members. Maintaining good relationships will make battles go much smoother and bad relationships can lead to devastating defeats.

Key Features:

  • Play as six unique heroes with their own skills and abilities
  • Challenge enemies in dynamic turn-based battles
  • Keep your team together with the argument system, with ramifications if character relationships go wrong
  • Explore four varied biomes each with their own unique challenges
  • Face off against 18 Mini-Boss Encounters and 17 Boss Encounters throughout your journey
