Return to Guild Wars 2 and grab new loot in the February 27th Secrets of the Obscure Update, “The Realm of Dreams”.

ArenaNet just announced the latest update to the hit MMORPG Guild Wars 2. The ongoing battle against the nightmares of Nayos continues on 27 February 2024 when the latest instalment of an epic story drops, and for free. Players who already own the fourth expansion to this epic tale will rush headlong into battle against the dreaded Kryptis and probably pick up new loot too.

The latest update will unlock a new region of Nayos to explore. Among the gloom, Commander’s are sure to find trouble. ArenaNet has promised two new legendary bosses for the map’s Convergence mechanic. This portal hunting activity stands as a major feature of the recent updates, arriving during Through the Veil. The new Kyrptis are likely an offering to keep this repeatable content fresh and engaging. In addition to this, anybody taking a time out form the map grind can step into the Temple of Febe Strike Mission and take on the new Challenge Mode, a harder difficulty option for anybody who already got gud.

This isn’t the only combat change either. As we’ve been expecting, ach profession will gain the use of a new weapon proficiency. This means a new and untested weapon for every class. New skills and build possibilities come fully loaded, and while we’ve not had hands on yet, I can’t wait to try them. Rangers will also find a new pet to accompany them into the action, and the Astral Ward Mastery line is set to get further options.

The Wizard’s Vault, the pick your own reward system introduced during the last expansion, gets a refresh during this Secrets of the Obscure update. New items and rewards await. To get an idea of what’s coming and prepare for what looks likely to be the penultimate battle for Nayos, check out the trailer above and head over to the official Guild Wars 2 website for more.
