Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire released

Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire

If you’ve been looking for a vertical shoot ’em up with a strong emphasis on anime-like characters, look no further than Chorus Worldwide’s and Alfa System’s Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire. The game is now available for $13.99 on both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

The game is inspired by “the anime aesthetic of 2007’s Castle of Shikigami series”. As the name implies, there are five sisters, each with their own unique magical powers. They are racing one another to capture the heart of the angel Yashin. Along the way, they’ll need to use power boost mechanics — the more high-risk the move, the higher the score ramps up. Players can look for personal bests or check out the worldwide leaderboards to see how they’ve measured up to others.

Those who remember the Castle of Shikigami series will be pleased to hear that a day-one DLC is also available that features “a cameo appearance by one of the series’ best-loved characters”. It can be purchased for $2.99.

The game is currently available for PS4 and Switch but there are plans to add additional platforms in the near future.
