Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Designed for Maximum Player Choice

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Designed for Maximum Player Choice

EA and Respawn Entertainment have a loud and clear message for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Players with all of its accessibility features. The game has been designed to provide players with maximum choice over how they play through their galactic journey. That promise includes options such as control customization, subtitles and closed captions, difficulty options, and many others. To highlight how players can make Survivor truly “their own,” the team detailed how that happens in a new blog.

According to the post, many of the new options to Survivor came thanks to feedback after the release of Fallen Order. “We were fortunate to receive great feedback from the community when we released the original game back in 2019, enabling us to keep improving the game after launch. That experience, and those learnings, have been hugely important in getting us to where we are today.”

Accessibility Features

  • Control Customization: Players can remap controls to suit their playstyles and needs.
  • Subtitles and Closed Captions: Players will find numerous toggles for subtitles and closed captions that further let them modify how much detail is in both/either.
  • Visual: Developers provide several options, including HUD scaling, color profile settings, stabilizing UI dot, colorblind options, field of view, camera shake adjustment, and more.
  • Difficulty Options: Players will be able to choose from several difficulty settings. These include Story Mode, Jedi Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, and Jedi Grand Master.
  • Gameplay Modifiers: Players can adjust the game at nearly every point. There are camera options for auto-targeting, button mash options, hold/pull toggles, and navigation assist (including audio ping). Slow Mode also allows players to take action down a notch to ease the challenge of both combat and platforming.

The team has plans to continue to add more accessibility features post-launch. These include high contrast mode and menu narration. “we strive to reduce and eliminate unnecessary accessibility barriers so that everyone can enjoy our games.” said Morgan Baker, Program Lead for Accessibility.
