Super Rude Bear Resurrection Brings Platforming Mayhem to PC / PS4 Next Week

Super Rude Bear Resurrection is a challenging platformer from Alex Rose Games. With roots squarely in the Super Meat Boy camp, Rude Bear lets players rack up impressive body counts. The best news is that the Playstation 4 and PC versions are ready to go next week. The PS4 version will be out on May 2nd, while the PC version will be out on May 5th.

Super Rude Bear Resurrection is dying to launch

SRBR is “a ridiculously hardcore platformer” according to Alex Rose, creator of the game. Unlike Super Meat Boy, death is actually an advantage. Once you die, you respawn at your last check point but your “old corpse” stays in the world. You can use it for cover as well as (somewhat squishy) steppingstones to the next platform. As Rose said, “die enough and you’ll be able to beat any level”. There are, as expected, a number of ways to die including by axe, liquid nitrogen missiles and more.

But for those of you who can’t resist a challenge, it’s actually possible to beat the entire game without dying. It’s just insanely difficult. The game is super fair — you never get killed out of nowhere and all the hitboxes are lenient, but the levels become nightmarishly hard. And you’ll have to live through that nightmare if you want to unlock the Platinum Trophy.

You can read more about the game on the PlayStation blog.

Oh, and XBox One players? Don’t despair. There is an XB1 version in the works, but it’s just not quite ready yet.
