Nintendo Switch owners can now get their hands on a gorgeous boxed copy of Dontnod’s wartime narrative adventure Gerda A Flame in Winter.
Meridiem Games has announced that it’s bringing the story of Gerda to shelves as part of a new publishing deal with Life is Strange developer Don’tnod. While the French outfit may have done the work on the initial digital release, players looking for something a bit more personal can grab a copy of this upcoming title on Nintendo Switch soon. Due to hit stores and home collections during Autumn, the boxed Resistance Edition includes some added extras to sweeten the deal.
Aside from a physical cartridge, this copy will come with a specially designed sleeve and will contain two unique art postcards and an exclusive bookmark. These fitting collectables might not be monstrous statues, but give owners a connection to the events and a reminder of the idyllic backdrop to Gerda’s fraught life.
Set during the closing moments of WWII, Gerda’s enthralling narrative takes players through moral dilemmas, difficult conversations, and sticky situations. Stuck in occupied territory, you’ll play as a young nurse who is torn between her community and her desperate quest to save her husband, Anders. With divided loyalties and difficult decisions, players will need to use their wits and roll for luck in an ingenious mix of ideas with life-or-death stakes.
