Developer Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts have announced that a brand-new life stage has been added to The Sims 4 in a base game update on all major platforms. It’s time for infants!
The fastest way to discover everything the new stage has to offer is to have your Sims go through an adoption process or arrange for a Science Baby – a new interaction that lets you attempt a little platonic genetic mixing and see what the outcome may be. Alternatively, you can simply use the good ol’ Create-a-Sim option and start a new family to discover what you can tweak and change.
In the Live Mode, you will be able to notice that all family members, regardless of their age, now have ways to socialize with the infant and nurturing will play an important role in their development:
“While caring for an Infant’s Attention motive is a clear way to ensure they’re getting the socialization they need, Infants also form attachments to their household members through regular interaction and bonding. This is key to an Infant’s development, and can result in special reward traits that influence their proficiency at forming healthy relationships over the span of their life. One great example of quality time spent between a caregiver and Infant is exploring various foods in the High Chair, where Infants will start learning things that they like, love, or dislike.”
