The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Behind the Scenes Video

Gun Interactive has released a fascinating new video that cuts the curtains for a peek behind the development of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. In it, developers detail the creative process behind making the game. Viewers are treated to the team discussing the complexities of making a game that honors “one of the most celebrated horror franchises of all time.”

Eight members of the Gun Interactive team take to the airwaves to discuss guiding principles informing the design and development of the game. In addition, fans also discover each one’s personal connection to the series and the game.

With insight into what it takes to work with such an important piece of film history and introduce new characters into an established narrative, this featurette is a glimpse into The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’s world. From digitally scanning every scratch on an authentic 70’s chainsaw to digging through the journals of original screenwriter Kim Henkel to revive the drifter Sissy, this latest behind-the-scenes video has all kinds of details for fans to dig into as they await the game’s August 18th launch.

PC players will definitely want to pay attention. On May 25th, Gun Interactive will run a technical playtest for the game. While we don’t have all the details about how to be chosen to take part, the team has promised that more will be revealed in the coming weeks. It’s worth noting that “wishlisting” the game isn’t a bad idea.

Once the technical playtest is complete, it’s just a matter of months before the August 18th release date for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Game Pass and Steam.
