Crytek is inviting PC players to log into Hunt Showdown for a week’s worth of thrills and chills. The game has been updated to bring some spooky content into the Steam game including a lengthy questline, an all-new playable character to unlock, and more.
The event offers players six quests to complete that will unlock themed goodies for those who finish the entire series. Players will be challenged to smash pumpkins throughout the Bayou. Along the way, they’ll have to confront The Butcher who wears an appropriate pumpkin head for the occasion.
Players can earn great rewards including “Mama Maye,” a new Legendary Hunter, and a Skull Effigy Weapon Charm. There are also four Legacy Legendaries to unlock as well.
Maye “Mama” Florent is very real. After becoming a widow for the second time in 1890, she vowed to never marry again. She was rumored to have many gentlemen callers coming to her home, but never the same one twice. It wasn’t until she suddenly left home that people realized her terrible secret: Those same gentlemen callers coming to her home were being killed. She would keep the heads as keepsakes and grind up the rest of the bodies to use as fertilizer in her garden.

Hunt Showdown is a competitive, match-based gameplay combines PvP and PvE elements. This creates a uniquely tense PvEvP experience where your character and your gear are always on the line.
