Microsoft has announced the release of a new update to Microsoft Flight Simulator that sends players winging off to the Lone Star State. Update III: Texas lets PC and Xbox players visit several of the state’s urban locations, including Abilene, Austin, Cedar Park, San Antonio, Schertz, Temple, and Waco. Each of these regions lies within the “Texas Triangle,” where most of the state’s population lives.
Developers released a new trailer to showcase the meticulous recreation of these real-world cities.
According to the team, aerial images were collected thanks to a partnership with Bing Maps and Vexcel. Once collected, the data was assembled to “create the most realistic digital renditions to date of these cities.” Players can buzz through each city and explore the vast open spaces between each urban location.
“Players can explore Austin’s Frost Bank Tower, San Antonio’s renowned Alama and the Brazos River, and Waco’s own Suspension Bridge.”
