Flashback 2 Upgrades the Titan Jungle

Flashback 2 will return to a sci-fi epic on 16 November, but first we’ve got a look at the iconic Titan Jungle.

Microids, studios Microids Lyon/Paris and Paul Cuisset just released a new trailer for the upcoming sequel to the iconic Flashback. Nestled among the scenes of this brand-new trailer are the dangers that await anybody stepping back into another world, and a first look at the returning jungle of Titan. Instantly recognizable to fans of the 1992 original, this biome was the opening level for the first Flashback, and as such has something of a place in the memories of us older vintage gamers.

If you remember this as a pixelated set of platforms, covered in green and brown then things have moved on a little. Flashback 2 reimagines the shrubbery a little differently. Taking the original 2D concept, this multi layered maze is instantly more expansive. The freshly rendered backdrops are far higher resolution, and the canopy lets in a gorgeous array of lighting effect.
Unfortunately, this look back isn’t a walk down memory lane. After his earlier victory, the Morphs and the fearsome General Lazarus threaten all civilizations once again. Once more, Conrad B. Hart dives into a breath-taking adventure full of twists and turns and revelations with the help of his few allies, including A.I.S.H.A., his iconic AI-powered weapon! This time fans will find a title that promises to be faithful o the first in this duo, but imaginative and new. Aside from the expansive high def environment, expect a gripping, fluid and intricate platform shooter too.

We’ve got high hopes for our return into outer space for a long await face off against a secretive alien invasion force. Flashback 2 arrives on 16 November 2023 in digital formats and 5 December in retail on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch for the North American region. Keep an eye on those sneaky Morphs on the official Social channels.
