The VZR Model One, an audiophile standard headset from former Apple’s Acoustics Lead, is finally set to ship on 29 July.

Also available to pre-order, over on the official VZR Model One website, this new name on the audio scene is set to bring us an audiophile gaming headset that comes with plenty of pedigree behind it. Developed by Apple’s former lead acoustics engineer, Vic Tiscareno, and veterans of the video game and audio industries, the VZR Model One promises a no-compromise design, high fidelity audio, and its very own bespoke tech to make the entire experience one worth shelling out for.

Crosswave

While the VZR has some striking design choices, it isn’t just notable for its looks. Beneath earcups, 40-millimetre drivers and lightweight copper aluminium wiring that provides low distortion and wide bandwidth, while a proprietary acoustic lens design reshapes audio waves to emulate how ears perceive sound in real life. This Crosswave technology should help the VZR Model One deliver fantastic positional audio when trying to target your enemies, and VZRs own tuning will give gamers an accurate and natural frequency response. Away from the noise-making end of the VZR Model One, this headset also features a detachable boom mic equipped with an acoustic, patent-pending noise-cancelling design, ensuring a clear voice sound for gaming with others, complete with a handy mute switch. The cables also detach from each ear, making storage and transport easy, while custom, angled earpads come designed with comfort and acoustic performance in mind. Hopefully, this means the VZR Model One isn’t going to sacrifice comfort for audio quality

Of course, we haven’t heard the VZR Model One yet, so we can’t tell exactly how accurate that is but for an audiophile branded headset, they sound pretty compelling at $349. If you want to jump in ahead of the crowd then you can pre-order over now or simply find out more over at the official VZR website.
