Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader Has a Release Date

Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader is coming to PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5 on 7 December 2023.

Conquer the outer regions of the galaxy and bring the influence of man to lost regions of space when Warhammer 40K: Rouge Trader comes to PC and Console later this year. Owlcat Games just announced the release date for this huge new cRPG, and dropped a new trailer too. Fans of the 40K universe will be able to immerse themselves in the constant struggle against Chaos, but with a brand-new twist or two along the way.

Set in the familiar games Workshop world of 40K, this Warhammer IP ditches the likes of the Space Marines and Xenomorphs, for something a little bit grittier. As the titular Rogue Trader, players will build a team and explore space. Finding worlds abandoned or just cut off from the Emperor’s glory, it’s up to you to act in the best interests of mankind. That means taking a step away from the front lines of bloody battle and getting down into the dirt with the rest of the galaxy. That could man exploring abandoned ruins or trading your way out of trouble.

More than likely, it will mean combat. Thankfully, players will be able to build a powerful team and take down a range of vicious adversaries. Fans of the tabletop experience will recognize much of the Lord-Captains compatriots. Twisted psykers, incredible sharpshooters, and even the Marazhai feature in your travelling band of miscreants. Each come with their own traits and a distinct personality. The drama between these companions could even end up being just as explosive as the threats that loom ahead of each adventure. Anybody heading out into the Void will need to manage their party, interpersonal relationships, and maybe keep an eye on the locals when the step off their ship, if you want to survive.

We’ve been seriously impressed by the beta gameplay for Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader and now we know when to expect more of it. Check out our impressions from the first hands on at Gamescom 2022 to more recent skirmishes, or find out more at the official website.
