It looks like anything older than a 2021 flagship phone is going to struggle to take on Zenless Zone Zero.
Zenless Zone Zero has announced a new Closed Beta, and it appears that players looking to get mobile with their Proxies might want to take a look at polishing off a new mobile contract, because the specifications are steep for this upcoming action brawler from HoYoverse.
The team behind Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail released a list of details alongside the news that players and sign up for the next test of their latest anime inspired adventure. While not a final confirmation, the required and recommended specifications for this testing phase give us an indication of the grunt you’ll need underneath that Gorilla Glass to navigate the hollows on launch. Players looking to go mobile will need the following.
Required Phone Specifications
OS: Android 11.0 / iOS 14.0
Space : 17GB (iOS) / 15GB (Android)
Processor: Snapdragon 888, Dimensity 1200, Kirin 990 and 8GB RAM or iPhone XS
The Snapdragon 888 processor can generally be found in flagship phones from 2021, such as the Samsung S21 or 2022 mid-range devices like the Motorola G200 5G. This means Android gamers just getting things started will necessitate a phone roughly in the same performance range as the Samsung A54. You’ll also need a phone lacked with 8GB RAM, so I’d expect this to require something of note circa 2021 just to try out. Apple owners have a similar set of expectations with the 2021 iPhone XS slated as the lowest performance iPhone that will cut it.
What About PC?
Ironically, if you want to jump in on PC, things are probably going to be cheaper than a phone upgrade. PC specifications are as follows:
OS: Windows 10
Space: 40GB
Processor: Intel 10th Gen i7
RAM: 8GB
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660
If you’re on a budget, then getting a gaming PC might be the cheaper option. While plenty of gamers will be able to boost processors and ailing rigs up to speed with a big fan and overclocking, the GTX 1660 is a GPU that will set most consumers back just a couple of hundred dollars. Less, on the second-hand market.
If you have a phone that’s able to meet the specifications and want to find out more about Zenless Zone Zero, check out our hands on from Gamescom 2023 and head over to the official website to sign up for the next Closed Beta test now.
