343 Industries and Microsoft have provided eager Halo Infinite fans with a new look at the game with a new video that is focused on the campaign. It offers viewers a peek at the storyline with six full minutes of action including a look at new features and systems.
The video showcases a number of the upcoming title’s new weapons, enemies, bosses, and even the new AI companion named The Weapon. Of course, no preview is complete without a look at the open-world gameplay system and some of the RPG elements that are included such as bases, optional pursuits, and equipment upgrades.
When the game launches on December 8th, players will find themselves immersed in the Halo universe with story elements cropping up from games in the past. This includes the continuation of Cortana’s story after the explosive cliffhanger from Halo 5 as well as elements sprinkled in from Halo Wars 2, the real-time strategy game based in the same universe.
We’re going to continue to have more to say about the campaign and its enigmatic narrative threads as the days march ever closer to its December 8 release. For now, keep replaying the new reveal video and sleep with dreams of careening headlong into a Banished outpost with a stolen Banshee, immediately freeing several captured UNSC Marines, giving them all your best weapons, piling them in a reclaimed Razorback, and laying waste to the crimson-covered bladed baddies standing in your way. It’s some of the most fun you can have this side of the Auditorium.
Developers also sent out a trailer showcasing The Banished, one of the game’s more formidable enemies to be found in-game.
