Blood Bowl 3: Closed Beta Has Teed off and lit the fire under ten more days of head crunching action.
In an announcement at yesterday’s Warhammer Skulls event, developer Cyanide Studio and publisher Nacon confirmed that this crossover between the gentleman’s game of football and the deadliest Orcs in the galaxy has just kicked off a closed beta test. Running until the 13 June, this glimpse into the most unusual sporting sim I’ve played is a much-upgraded iteration in the Blood Bowl franchise, putting players on a turn-based field of battle where the different denizens of the Warhammer universe play nasty to come out victorious.
All The Action
This time around Blood Bowl features all the latest tabletop rules, for its punt onto digital platforms, and updated content features. 12 teams will start the fight. The Black Orcs, Imperial Nobility, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegade, Dark Elves, Dwarfs, Elven Union, Humans, Nurgle, Old World Alliance, Orcs, and the bloody Skaven will take to the battlefield to find out who can beat, battle, and cheat their way to victory in a turn-based game that is more than just blood. It’s brains parts too. When your team aren’t busy being scraped off the field, there are all-new customization options for your coaches, cheerleaders, teams and every piece of armour worn by your players. The new additions also include an improved competitive mode with new league management features, an official ladder, and a solo campaign.
While more traditional soccer sims and management games might be more up your street, you can wait out the release date for This is Football by taking a turn or two with the Chaos Chosen and hope that the Orcs aren’t as mean as they look. register to get into beta now on PC before it causes a success during PC Early Access, or kicks off for real on PC, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch come February 2022.
